BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Howard condemns riots in Sydney: "Australian Prime Minister John Howard has called for ethnic and religious tolerance in the wake of race riots in Sydney over the weekend."

Australia should come to terms and realise that there is indeed a very deep rooted racism in the minds of Australians. Anybody who is not white is always treated second class citizen. Instead of rubing it off, accept it. You won't see it unless you are coloured skin and are at recieving end.

Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic wars;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action -
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake."

Shivaji would have been ashamed- The Times of India: "Thousands of images have been beamed around the country of the monsoon madness that’s unfolding in Mumbai."

Lack of self esteem on part of Indian people in general but particularly the Mumbaikar. We just don't seem to pride in what we are. We are governed by heartless and mindless idiots that we elect.

These politicians are there because we put them there. So I see no point in blaming them. I am also personally disappointed at radical coments given by the self proclaimed pseudo intellectuals. Presenting long analysis on national and local political conditions. Trying to convince the masses to find a reason and then blame it on something.

The real situation is very well stated by Mr Narayanswamy in this article. This article with Mr. Nandy's article, hope shakes up the Mumbaikar and decides to take some action. Demand respect from the politicians the rest of the nation. Enough of this being treated as non existing commuity collectively taken for granted, called Mumbaikar.
Mumbaikars! Demand, don't beg- The Times of India: "Mumbaikars are always in work mode -— even partying for most of them is serious work, schmoozing, building new business relationships and reaffirming old ones—and when that work mode is disrupted, as it was recently, they migrate to the blame mode. Blame the BMC. Blame Reliance Energy. Blame the chief minister."

For once, I definitely agree with Mr. Nandy. What Mumbaikar has lost and forgotten is the self esteem. Be proud to be the earning member of the large family and demand the respect you deserve. A proud Mumbaikar I am and will always be.

Friends, Here is something helarious I found on the net. Would love to share it with all.

Dear Software Engineer,

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed that the New program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the Product brochure. In addition, Wife
1.0 installs itself into all other Programs and launches during system initialization, where it monitors all other system activity.

Applications such as Smoking 10.3, Boozing 2.5 and Saturday Night Pubs 5.0 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I cannot keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run some of my other favorite applications like Night Club 4.3, Dance 'n' Drunk 2.0 and Bachelor Party 7.77. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the UN-install does not work on this program. Once I tried to Uninstall Wife 1.0 but got this error "General Protection Fault(GPF) in module House Security. The UN- installation will abort." Can you help me?
Please!!!

Regards

Desperate User

*** Reply from Tech. Support ***

Dear Desperate User,

Re: Upgrade from a girlfriend to a wife

This is a very common problem men complain about, but is mostly due to a Primary misconception. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 with the idea that Wife 1.0 is merely a UTILITIES & ENTERTAINMENT program.

Wife 1.0 is actually an OPERATING SYSTEM and designed by its creator to Run Everything. It is unlikely you would be able to purge Wife 1.0 and still convert back to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to UN- install, delete, or Purge Wife 1.0 from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is not designed to do this. Some have tried to install Girlfriend 8.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than the original system. Look in your manual under "Warnings-Alimony/Child Support" which was given to you at the time of registration with Wife 1.0. I recommend you keep Wife 1.0 and just deal with the situation. Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I might also suggest you read the entire section Regarding General Partnership Fault It' (GPFs).

The best course of action will be to enter the command C:\ POLOGIZE. In fact I would suggest you use this command every time Wife 1.0 Crashes on your system. Wife 1.0 is a great program, but very high Maintenance. Consider buying additional software to improve the Performance Of Wife 1.0. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Chocolates 5.0 or
Movies 4.5, which will improve the performance of Wife 1.0. Do not, under any Circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This is not a Supported application for Wife 1.0 and is likely to cause irreversible Damage to the operating system.

McDonald pays up Hindu veggie groups in US- The Times of India: "McDonald pays up Hindu veggie groups in US"

I always thought there was not right about McDonald's fries. When This was learnt first a couple of years ago, I was glad that I was right in not eating McDonald fries. No I am not a vegetarian per say but I strong support vegetarian movement. I eat chicken and fish once in a while. But I definitely do not eat red meat in any form.

McDonald paying this some is positive sign but let the movement not end here. There are so many more things that McDonald needs to pay up for. Anyone to guess any two such issues to sue McDonald.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Director Stone making 9/11 film: "'It's an exploration of heroism in our country - but it's international at the same time in its humanity,' Stone said."

If not more, but there are at least a few thousand people who will not subscribe this so called US of A's heroism. Hey guys you are responsible for it and now you want to make business out of it? You people are sick as hell. Where were you when Rodney King case and the aftermath that tolled US of A for billions of dollars? Where are you when so many of innocent US of A citizens are being popped like pop corns in Iraq. Where are you when you did NOT find WMD? Do you have guts to make a film on blunder of US of A on world affair

I think you have a problem of thinking you are Superman. A super human being who is so stupid to wear his undies over his pants. Mr. Stone, if you wish to retain your repute, Please DO NOT make this film. I urge the same to Mr. Caige and all others involved. For heavens sake, once please don't' consider the monetary benefits.

You said "Heroism in our country..." Hey there are people far too more hero than in your country. People struggling and surviving against ALL odds. Tsunami, Famine, Poverty.... Look Mr. Geldoff, learn a lesson. Don't be like Mr. Bush or Mr. M. Jackson. Get a life Mr. Stone. Wake up before it's too late.

Flame me if you dare to. I talk for evidence and nothing else. I do feel and cry for the loss of life of innocent but its time to stand up against it and not capitalize it for generating profits and hatred. There is a better resolution for this global issue. If anyone cares to, I am more than willing to share.

Remembering the Mumbai blasts - The Times of India: "Remembering the Mumbai blasts"

How can I forget that. I witnessed, three of these blasts. I lost more than anyone. As an Indian, I lost many innocent civilians. My brothers, sisters, friends, those whoam I don't even know, but I lost them. I saw the tragedy. I witnessed it. 300 people? Are you kidding? I know there must have been more than a 1000 dead. I don' understand why officials want to play it low key?

Whatever. Be it Bombay(now Mumbai) or London or Madrid or even in that case New York, who is paying the price of this absolutely absurd, religious intollerence. Tell me one religion that prescribes hatred and when you show me one, please tell me why have no one ever thought of terminating it. Why waste billions of dollars and infinite number of innocent lives in name of "freedom" thus justified by them protectors of democracy.

Excuse me Mr. George W Bush. Either you are fooling the world or you are too naive to come to terms. Get real Mr Bush. It is not white supremacy, that I think, you and your father dreamt of, will make change in this world. For a change, why not send your marines to liberate Burma. Oh! Sorry, maybe you don't do that cause there is not enough oil/gas in Burma and that does not threat you. Not forgetting, Burma also supplies you with infinite stock of drugs.

People, time has come. Unite under name of humanity and the planet that we all share. Stop this mindless violence and for once, respect what you are.

Doesn't matter of my Sikh brethren feel offended, but I did like to say the following:
Bole so Nihal ....
Ayo Gorkhali
Bolo Parvati Patey Hara Hara Mahadev
Allah Hu Akbar

In name of this planet that we share, rise people, rise to fight this stupid maniac massacre of innocent people. As I would not like to be a slave, I will not be a master. No is my master except ... The all mighty.

'Prince' from Hyderabad claims Taj- The Times of India-: "Prince' from Hyderabad claims Taj"

We the people of India....

Well I thought India exists only since 1947. So from then on, all the property is a joint belonging to the whole nation. How can an individual or a religious body stake claims to something like Taj.

I am wondering what has happened to the spirit of a true Indian to stand up for the right. Where is the rest of the billion plus population when someone is going to take away what is yours from within?

I don't fear the enemy at the border, that we can tackle. The enemy within is slowly taking away your land. Think my fellow Indian think.

Islamic schools redefine English language- The Times of India: "Islamic schools redefine English language"

And now we are going sow the seeds of distinct identity into minds of innocent children just because the grown ups could not face the reality. People, please understand one thing, doing anything as a reactive move will not resolve the issue. One has to look at more creative and pro active methods.

Let me quote from something that we have so conveniently forgotten of Mahatma Gandhi. I have seen people talk of Bapu in regards to Khadi etc. Does anyone remember that he also strongly suggested that we should have Hindustani as our National language? Hindustani, a beautiful blend of Hindi and Urdu. Foundation of cross language, cross culture relationship and developing understanding and tolerance for mutual beliefs.

Sorry we have forgotten that because Nehru declared Hindi has National language completely disregarding he sentiments of non Hindi speaking Indians.

I am not surprised that such religion based English schools are propping up as a result of reaction from the so called masses. Tell me one thing if any one cane, when every one is claim that they are suffering, then who the hell is enjoying? All are victims then who is the victor?

I do not subscribe to such schools but hey, all the best my friends, at least for once these schools will be teaching eastern values and not western values. Well actually in west there are hardly any values left. In true spirit of being Indian, I sincerely congradulate such schools, how so ever I may disagree to their extremist stand.

Any one?

One of those cute things that we have read zillion times and yet completely forgotten.

Don't find love, Let love find you.
That's why it's called falling in love because you don't force yourself to fall, you just fall.

Once you accept someone for who and what they really are. They will surprise you by being better than you expected.

Love is loving /accepting a person with all his/her strength and weaknesses.

Lucky is the man who is the first love of a woman, but luckier is the woman who is the last love of man.

When two friends fall in love learn they are meant for each other.

When they fall out of love they realize they want to keep each other forever.

Find time to realize that there is one person who mean so much to you, for you might wake up one morning losing that person who you thought meant nothing to you .

Love is seeing yourself through someone's eyes and finding yourself in somebody's heart.

Once you have loved, you will always love . For what's in your mind may escape but what's in your heart will remain forever.

True LOVE doesn't have a happy ending ,that's because true love doesn't have an ending.

A ball is circle, no end. It keeps us together like your circle of friends.

But the treasure inside, for you to see, is the treasure of friendship you have given to me

Letting go has never been easy and holding on can be as difficult. Yet Strengths measured not by holding on by letting go.

Men vs. Women : Men would rather sacrifice love to conquer the world. Women would rather give up the world just to be with someone worth the sacrifice.

Decision should not be the choice of your heart or mind but a sensible balancing of both.

Some thoughts are better left unsaid, some feelings are better left kept to yourself but love has it's way of expressing itself despite the silence.

The happier the memory, the deeper

There are so many stars in the sky only some are radiant enough to be noticed. Among those you choose to ignore is the one which was willing to shine for you forever even if your glance remained elsewhere.

It breaks your heart to see the one you love is happy with someone- else? but it's more painful to know that the one you love is unhappy with you.

Reasons

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there...to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck.

Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create whom you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from.

In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it again.

Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create you own life and then go out and live it.

Share this with anyone whom you believe has made a difference in your life!

Vaginal Independence - Booty Call or the Real Thing?- X Files - People - Indiatimes: "Vaginal Independence - Booty Call or the Real Thing"

Interesting write by Piyali Dasgupta. I must say she has very well versed this otherwise sensitive "do not go there" "don't talk about it" subject of man/woman relationship. It is also interesting know that the new generation in India is ready and aware about it. I sincerely hope it does not turn out into a complete collapse of society, as it happened in west.
Navy gets its 1st lady vice-admiral- The Times of India: "Navy gets its 1st lady vice-admiral"

Now this happens only in India. Shame on the western media that keeps projecting India as land of women bashing society. They are unable to accept the fact that India had a prime minister who was a woman and India society has far more respect for women and treat them well. For once, if the western world would open up their eye to see good thing in India, maybe they will learn something to make their own life a bit better.

Have you ever come across a state of affairs when things work more or less smoothly, as far as computers are concerned.

In search of that ideal software combination, I spent days and trillions of bytes and consumed bandwidth, to finally come a choice.

My PC runs with the following software and I am satisfied by the performance.

For maintaining my system slim and trim I use Ace Utilities. You will be amazed at the speed and efficiency of this little software has. Its Giant competition from likes of Symantec corporation charging double the price does less than half the job.

For antivirus I strongly recommend using AVG Antivirus. Similar to Ace utilities, Grisoft is smaller, faster and more effective than the giants like Norton AV and McAfee. It does not slow down the computer as much as the other two.

Defragmentation is best done by Diskeeper. Very intelligent and efficient software. Simple to use and The difference is instantly noticeable in boot time, application load time and swap time.

Well friends, the above are my suggestions, since I have benefited, I thought I did share the idea with you. It is not against the Giants like Microsoft or Symantec, but its against paying too much money for too little in return. Not fair. What you say?

Cheers,

NY radio pokes fun at tsunami victims

What in the world is wrong with this Country? Have they lost it all? Such racist intolerance from a country that wants to believe it has freedom and wants to liberate the whole world? I think first of all they need to liberate themselves from their dead decaying mind/soul.

Now, a 'Khan-for-Iran' deal- The Times of India: "Now, a 'Khan-for-Iran' deal"

Well done Seymour Hersh. Soon after Iraq campaign, me and my friends were wondering which would be the next target for Bush. Initially we thought it was Korea, which is still on the hotlist but Iran was close second. I still feel it will be Korea. Sadly we have no choice but to see the vulgar demonstration of might by US under pretext of "War on Terrorism" which to begin with, was invented and introduced to the world by them.

Racism is just a phone call away- The Times of India: "'I have inside knowledge of call centres, having worked in several. It's crucial that the agents be efficient. Barraging them with 60-second calls will ruin their stats and also lower their morale. Eventually, they'll start thinking 'another damn rude American a******' every time a call comes up. All of this will have a cumulative effect. If 100 people across the US would commit to spending 10 minutes a day, we could cripple them, and bring those jobs back to the US.'"

The above is quote from a Bulletin Board or Blog. Only one response, not a reaction. Now imagine that ALL the call centers are back in US. Now Imagine what if just 10 % 1.2 Billion of Indian People were to call US for 10 minutes a day making 60 second call. Would it last that long? Before burning others down with your own hatred, look inside if they were to do the same to you. Are you ready for taking what you are giving? Wisen up people. Live in the present moment not past glory.
