BBC News - China children 'hacked to death' in new school attack: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

I don't wish to participate in any 'intellectual' discussion to find out what is wrong. I just see that China as a Nation, is suffering a grave mental illness and something needs to be done about it. Else imagine where it could lead.

It is really fearfully strange to see so much hatred, anger and dislike towards young innocent children. Whatever the reason be, I view it as serious mental illness. Anyone who reads my comment, would appreciate a feedback.

Holy F****** cow. This guys need to be contained in a safe facility on the line of Guantanamo bay. What are they upto. Insanity needs to stop. I hope the Muslim community will use wisdom over sentiments to act on this one. Utterly insulting. I guess there will come a day when they will say women have no right to live so kill them when they are born. GOD help us from your so called followers.

This is indeed a Historic day. The spirit of 'Globalness' of Internet now truly lives. I feel proud to witness and be part of this Historic moment.

Truth lost: 1971 Bangladesh war files destroyed by Army - India - The Times of India

Truth lost: 1971 Bangladesh war files destroyed by Army - India - The Times of India: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

This is strange and intriguing. If records were deliberately ordered to be trashed, then it amounts to hiding some information that should not be known. Dark side to India's glorious heroic big brother kind of help to Bangladesh?

I wonder if we ever find the truth.

'Pakistanis are posing as Indians to escape discrimination' - US - World - The Times of India

'Pakistanis are posing as Indians to escape discrimination' - US - World - The Times of India: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"

As an Indian, I won't laugh about it. I have no hatred against Pakistan, a bit of annoyance, yes, as it is the breeding ground for all sorts of violent trouble. In past it was only India that suffered and the world did not even cared about it. Now since the trouble has reached the shores of US, the entire world is noticing, commenting and criticizing.

I fully sympathize with Pakistanis, in that matter anybody, when they get discriminated for not being white. It is a shame on humanity that in 2010 we still have such barbaric practices. It is shame that a someone has to pass themselves as someone else just for the fear of being discriminated. It is a shame.

India has no middle class? - India - The Times of India

India has no middle class? - India - The Times of India

Honestly I am confused. I did not understand the article and the reasoning behind it. Especially how India will not have a middle class is what I did not get. I really wonder with so much confusions, do these economists themselves understand what the hell they are speaking?

Can't they simply say ... $/day for x days = Middle class or whatever class they wish to define. Make a simple table. That's all. Anybody who can explain me this one, I would highly appreciate. Thank you.

BBC News - Indian man 'survives without food or water for decades'

BBC News - Indian man 'survives without food or water for decades'

That makes me go 'hmmm'. Defies any known understanding of human body and life. I cannot, instantly accept this, however I am open to know more, to find reality. However this should not be the pretext for millions of poor people going hungry. It is indeed ironic and confusing too. If one can live that long without food and water, then there will be no poverty in the world. There won't be any control left to manipulate human lives. The fundamental of surviving is no longer a necessity, then I guess all the big corporations, religions, governments will come down tumbling. Wishful thinking.

Intriguing nevertheless. I wish this story is followed up or at least I find some references elsewhere on the Internet.

Mobile milestone: India close to ringing in 600 million subscribers - India Business - Biz - The Times of India

Mobile milestone: India close to ringing in 600 million subscribers - India Business - Biz - The Times of India

We definitely beat any nation, except China by sheer power of numbers. Sadly these very numbers are also the biggest problem for India. We may jolly well claim the highest number of PCs in the world, however when it comes to per capita or pc/people ratio, we are lagging. Then again, I feel this won't be for too long. India definitely is going through change. Just because of her size we don't notice the changes immediately.

Little has changed on the route Kasab took - India - The Times of India

Little has changed on the route Kasab took - India - The Times of India

My heart cries at such apathy shown by Indians. I am not blaming any one particular. The Nation as whole, has lost the spirit, self respect and sense of being a Nation. Just too sad.

BBC News - Belgian lawmakers pass burka ban

BBC News - Belgian lawmakers pass burka ban

Good one. Equality to be maintained in a free world. Amnesty and other human rights people, sometimes I find, are a bit extreme and come across as idiots. Right to freedom of expression, excellent, but not in public please. You have all the freedom in your privacy and that I 100% defend. But once you accept to live in world that has a different set of rules, well accept those rules.

I must say, India or Indian people should adopt to this clear, no ambiguous attitude. We have had many divisions within the society. Let's clean it all up once and for all.

Lalit Modi involved in betting, murky deals: I-T report - India - The Times of India

Game of Gentlemen ? No more. Greed, lust and false ego has seen no boundaries. This is going too far. I hope some serious action is taken, even for name sake. Show an example. Just nail some big name. Confiscate all the assets and cash and use it for welfare. Do it.

BBC News - UK water use 'worsening global crisis'

It is a shame. It is a shame to the whole world. In year 2010, there is still this indirect form of slavery. The majority is exploited for 'way of life' of select few. So called biggest economies in the world are the worst in terms of over consumption, waste and drain on resources. I wonder when all this will end.

Our installations need security, not dumb security : India : Rajesh Kalra : TOI Blogs

Our installations need security, not dumb security : India : Rajesh Kalra : TOI Blogs

How bloody true. When some insignificant politicians get such massive security cover, more important establishments and sites are left to chance.

It is indeed sad to see such gross incompetence on part of Indian security, think tank, for not being able to graduate to modern times. Roughly speaking, we must be at least 3 to 4 decades behind, in matters of pro active, pre-emptive security measures. Most of the security measures I have seen in India, at the best can be described as 'Vintage'.

Irrespective of that, I am amazed at the effectiveness of these poorly trained personnel. They must be gifted, for sure. However, it is more than overdue to appreciate their talent and offer a rapid upgrade to their skills with help of more modern security protocols and procedures along with more up to date equipment.

I hope and pray that this is done soon.

Apr 15 launch to give India its GPS - The Times of India

Apr 15 launch to give India its GPS - The Times of India

Now Cryogenic rocket was news, no doubt. I remember, a few years ago, when Russia, under pressure from US, backed out on the deal to provide Cryogenic rocket technology to India. Indian scientists response was something I can never forget. They said 'We will make our own, but getting the technology would help us save time.' If I am not mistaken, former President of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam was head of the scientific community in those days.

Coming to point, I was indeed excited to know about the launch of Cryogenic rocket, but didn't know India was developing GPS system of it's own. That is even more exciting. I look forward to successful launch. My best wishes and prayers go with Indian scientists.

BBC News - Indian state asks Coca-Cola to pay $47m compensation

BBC News - Indian state asks Coca-Cola to pay $47m compensation

I find this a bit funny. I don't know and don't want to judge who is guilty. The fun part that makes me laugh is this:

Coca Cola: Icon of American Capitalism.
Kerala: Communist state.

Interesting to see that in the first place, the company was allowed to open a plant, that ran for a few years in Kerala. Interesting to see that the company chose Kerala, out of all places, to open their plant.

Can't find words but really this makes me laugh.

BBC - Soutik Biswas's India

BBC - Soutik Biswas's India

One of the very few India related articles that I can say is well balanced in it's writing. Factual and yet not going over the top. Stating it as matter of fact and not passing judgments. I like Soutik's style of writing and depth of information and knowledge he reflects.

Keep up good work Soutik. You have one guaranteed reader for sure.

BBC News - India's unbearable lightness of being

BBC News - India's unbearable lightness of being

Not only India, it is indeed an obsession throughout East and South East Asia. Thailand, for instance, has more obsession with the 'white' skin. More than 50% of adverts, any media, seen in Thailand, are for whitening products.

Japans' obsession for being 'pale' white, is well known.

Then again, instead of analyzing this syndrome, I look at it a different way. What about those 'white' people wanting to get a tan. Look darker? Funny to see, in Thailand, the locals go extremes to get white. Hats, umbrella, avoid sun, sun block, whitening creams, full length clothing, you name it. They find the westerner a bit crazy, since they wear minimal cloths, lay stark naked on the beach, all for getting dark.

Yes there is this craze of looking fairer and whiter amongst those communities that are inherently dark due to geographical or whatever other reason. To understand this in most simple terms, 'Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence'. Humans have always wanted what they see in others and don't have them.

BBC News - Catholic Church sex abuse scandals around the world

BBC News - Catholic Church sex abuse scandals around the world

Time to think. Time to rehash the role and status of a church. Time to accept the flaws and make changes. Nothing is above human dignity. All the religions say so. To serve the humans is to serve GOD.

Do we want to wait for an uprising and total loss of faith in institutions like Church, to take action? There was a time when people looked upon churches in their hours of dire needs and help. I bet you they will think twice.

Truly dedicated, committed people needed in church. Not necessary all of them should be monks. Ordinary people can help too. Make fresh start. Let church re-define its role beyond simply performing rituals and ceremonies and denouncing. Be proactive in bringing human dignity to those who need it.

BBC News - New York police say sorry with cheesecake to pensioners

BBC News - New York police say sorry with cheesecake to pensioners

Now thats what I call piece of decency. Police too should have a heart and behave more humanly. It would help reduce their own stress levels. I can understand their life in the force and dealing with all sorts of weirdos. How ever that should not let them become one.

Good one. Thumbs up to NYPD.

Hope the cops in India learn some of this mannerism and softness to ordinary citizens. I know it is tough call. I am not blaming the cops at all. I have seen their stress levels. I really pity them and wish something can be done about it.

BBC News - US calls for 'YouTube' of government data

BBC News - US calls for 'YouTube' of government data

I am stumped. Is this really happening? A government, a country that so very well kept the information away from common masses, is opening the gates?

Hope so.

BBC News - Facebook rules out installing 'panic button'

BBC News - Facebook rules out installing 'panic button'

I would think with the technology advancement, that panic button would call local police or something more then simply taking the viewer to another page 'telling' them what to do. However the idea is good. Indeed very good. I don't see why Facebook should not adopt it. Would they want to wait for another tragedy to strike, maybe back home in US to take such action?

A bit disappointed by the statements of Facebook on 'panic button'

BBC News - Can you justify your job title?

One more on Job titles. I am happy that BBC still has the ability to produce some really interesting original work.

BBC News - Your silliest job titles

BBC News - Your silliest job titles

Really a good one. How the madness of calling things a little fancily has taken a hilarious turn. Reminds me of a friend of mine. He is Colon Hydrotherapist, amongst many other things. Introduces himself as 'Shit Inspector'.

For those young aspiring professionals looking for a change of job, don't get carried away with fancy job titles.

BBC News - The rise of lazy foods

BBC News - The rise of lazy foods

Very interesting report. Makes me think even more as to what have we done to be so busy and yet not achieve anything substantial that we can be proud of collectively as human race.

On one hand, a very large portion of world population still goes hungry, an elite society, spends hours discussing 'lazy food'? The discussion spins around how a few 'busy' professionals don't have time to cook.

I really don't what to make out of this article. It is interesting. Still on the other hand, mind goes out for those who don't have anything to eat. Lazy or not, they need food.

MF Husain longs for India: Amrita Rao - News & Interviews - Bollywood - Entertainment - The Times of India

MF Husain longs for India: Amrita Rao - News & Interviews - Bollywood - Entertainment - The Times of India

WHAT? Now we waste bandwidth to discuss a whimsical artists decision to give away his citizenship? With due respect, please, we have enough of wastage on publishing gossips of movie stars and showing bikini clad women on what is 'Worlds Largest' selling English daily news website. Now to add to this gross wastage, we have to read about M F Hussains, longing for India.

Strange, if he did like India, why did he give up Citizenship. Er.. do educate me, when did he give it up and why? I have a feeling, it must be one of those artists reasoning. Something that I could never understand.

Defiant Mayawati felicitated with another cash garland - India - The Times of India

Defiant Mayawati felicitated with another cash garland - India - The Times of India

Under law of common sense, Mayawati, in view, should be disqualified as leader of poor and oppressed people. In two days, she gets cash worth in Lakhs of rupees, then she ain't poor herself and non of that money is going to poor either. In fact a part of that money could have come from the poor. Such theatrics, I feel, should be banned from politics.

Then again, this is India. Can't do without such clowns else our politics would be so boring.

On a serious note, it is indeed saddening to see such a waste of money, where so ever it came from, in celebrating and boosting ego of one boisterous arrogant opportunist political leader. Someone who has maintain the divide in the society instead of pro-actively working to remove such divide. Someone who encouraged the masses, indirectly to remain backward so that they can keep getting benefits of the governments policies. Someone who flourished to be millionaire if not billionaire from being a poor school teacher. Something is missing here in the entire story.

I strongly stand for the cause, not the leaders nor the methods thus far adopted. Yes there is need to bring about change, but not by instigating people. I feel people should be encouraged. People should be brought out of this procrastinating frame of mind. Out of their slave mentality. Bring in the dignity.

Somebody wake up please. India needs to go ahead.

Sena attacks BNHS for 'Bombay' in its name - Mumbai - City - The Times of India

Sena attacks BNHS for 'Bombay' in its name - Mumbai - City - The Times of India

This is getting a little silly in my view. What is the objective? What political gain this jokers will have? Are they going to go back to the poor farmers in deep Maharashtra and tell them that look we have solved your problem. You remained poor because an old institution was still using 'Bombay' instead of Mumbai in its name. Now it's fixed.

Will it stop the misery? Will it help save the lives of farmers committing suicide? Their own Marathi farmers. Restoring pride on an empty stomach is in fact an insult. Slap on face. Restore food in their plates and you have offered them dignity. Restore confidence in them and you have helped them to survive.

This is too much. I guess this people need to be brain scanned or banned. They are so dangerous to average people.
